The Forest was created by the Dark Gifting over a century ago to isolate Litash and cut it off from the surrounding countries. Indeed, it did for over a hundred years and, until The War, few had successfully crossed The Forest into any of the surrounding countries. The Forest is traveled through several times in the course of The Exiled books, and while the danger has waned from its glory days of before The War, danger still lurks if one is not careful...
